COMARA News - Election, Social, Golf, and First Wednesday
COMARA has an ambitions event schedule in September. See the COMARA Website for the most current details.
In accordance with the Bylaws, the Board has advanced three names of currently serving Directors to continue for the 2017-2020 term.
The Election is conducted through an electronic ballot that will be available on the website from Sep 1 through Sep 22.
There is a provision in the bylaws for members to nominate additional members to serve. There isn't much time, but additional nominees can be added to the ballot if they are supported by 10 members and agree to serve. Send your nomination along with the 10 recommendations and the candidate's acceptance of the nomination to Maury Mechanick (COMARA President) by August 30.
Grand Opening - NEM Satellite Gallery
The NEM opened and the video display was a great draw. The facility can be rented out to other groups, which should result in a double draw. Maury Mechanick's wife's quilting club recently did a Pioneer Village exhibit at NEM.
A number of people who have contributed to the creation of the Satellite Gallery at the National Electronics Museum have received invitations to a Gala Celebration on Sep 16, 2017. Anyone who received an invitation should RSVP by the date on the invitation. COMARA is working to have the Maryland Governor, the state senators, and several county executives to attend. Bob Kinzie is paying for a wine and cheese party at the opening ceremony.
2nd Annual IRAA/COMARA & Intelsat Golf Outing - Sep 19, 10am
IRAA has planned a Golf Outing and invited COMARA members to participate. Invitation were sent to IRAA members using Punchbowl, an invitation service. You can view the Punchbowl Invitation. Please send an email to Alan Olson at <firstname.lastname@example.org> if you would like to attend.
